They are Mechanical Soldiers that make up the 25th AS Combat Police Unit. The unit is heavily armed and seemed highly intelligent, sentient, and skilled in all forms of combat(despite the translator and editor making the mistake in the quote they know how to count to ten and know he difference between that and counting down from ten....LOL).
The AS in the name corresponds to them presumablly
