Doppelganger machine

A machine made by Jean de Carriole to create a duplicate of Lady Cordelia Balazs, to give her a life other than the underwater existence she's been condemned to. Juses it to create doppelgangers of himself, Lord Vlad, and ultimately of Cordelia herself, although it's ten years after the fact when he learns that his attempt to make a doppelganger of her succeeded. They are said to only be slightly less powerful than the original.
