A device used in perfoming executions on the Frontier. A heavy steel blade is set at the top of a fifteen foot frame, and when the executioner releases the attached rope, it allows the blade to drop onto the neck of the condemned bent beneath it. There are thirteen steps leading up to the stage. It is believed to be named after its inventor, and while it's said also that he himself fell victim to it. The veracity of that claim is unknown in this age.
